I read online a few minutes ago that a Tesla in autopilot mode plowed into a stopped highway patrol car in Connecticut yesterday. Of course Tesla will review the data and blame it on the driver as they have in every other of the dozen or so instances that Tesla's have run into stopped emergency vehicles. Human drivers have to slow down or move over for emergency vehicles stopped on the shoulder. I guess Tesla doesn't recognize that law.

If a company is going to advertise and sell a feature that claims to drive for you, it better do it very well. Accidents like this is why I laugh at those who are freaked out about driverless trucks taking our jobs in the near future. The technology is nowhere near ready to operate autonomously.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
