Hey everyone, about a year ago, I rolled over my truck which was loaded. I was discharged from my job because of this. There was no other vehicle involved. I was put at fault for the accident. I got a lawyer involved, and was able to settle without receiving any points on record.

Since the the accident I’ve been working as a yard jockey in the port. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding a company that will take me on. I have 2 years of driving experience and I live near Charleston, SC

Any advice for someone in my situation?

Several companies will hire you. I think you'll get a couple, or more, job offers from this list.
Important: submit online job applications before any phone calls. Tomorrow, call and say, "I'm checking on my job application."

Over the road or local do you want to drive?
If no points, any local company will hire you. All you do is leave that last job reference out. If they are curious about what you have been up to for work, all you say is that you were running for a buddy of yours.

I’m looking for something local. Most of my driving experience was spent at the job I had the accident with.

Thank you, I’ll look into this. I’m guessing I should leave the info of the job I got discharged from off my application?

I'm sure any company will find out about the wreck so better be upfront about it.
Companies will find out if you jay walked in high school.
Submit plenty of applications and you'll land a job.
