Any AutoZone company drivers?

    I have been OTR the past year and a half and am kind of worn out with the life.I want to be home more often but don't want to take a pay cut.Currently bringing home around $1,250 when I get around 2,800 mi.

    According to the Auto Zone recruiter I spoke to drivers average 50k-90k/yr. That is a big gap and I want to know what is reasonable. If anyone has worked for them please let me know what you think of the company.

    - Regional from Terrell, TX
    - Unload with electric pallet jack, hydraulic lift gate
    - Home most days occasional layover ,2 consecutive days off
    - 45cpm to start, 2,100-2,800mi/wk
    - 7.5¢ per diem
    - $19/ stop 6-9 stops/day
    - $2,500 sign on

    I calculated on the very low end with 2,000 mi/wk and 4 stops/day, I'd bring home $1,200/wk which is ok with me.If anyone can confirm pay or any issues with the company please let me know.

    There is a AutoZone DC near my place in Hazleton PA. I know guys there that like it but they do a lot of New York city deliveries. Most guys hate driving in Brooklyn and Queens. Myself included.

    I have a friend running this account, but under a temporary staffing agency.

    Either pallets or carts, everything is liftgated as stores don’t have a dock. It’s all night work, your 1st drop is normally right as the store closes. Sometimes you have to spend time “making room” in the back of the store before you can unload, also can feel a bit dangerous at times considering you’re all alone delivering freight at 330am in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro.
    If you’re in the DFW metro there are better options available imo. He just running it while waiting on aggregate to pick back up in a few months.

    Seems to still be a pretty large gap in pay.
