Unfortunately that's how things seem to work,.....What that really means is that they want to charge you to take there driving school and pay you little to nothing for as long as it take yo to get feed up and quit,...Then they find another warm body to toss into the truck and start the process all over again,...

I had the same problem in '96. Had been off the road 10 years driving local, made about 50 phone calls, and got hired by FFE, Dallas, Tx. So, somebody will hire you, just need to beat on doors.:yes2557:

Yes, they say you need retrained and we arent offering that right now. Last time I checked I still had a CDL and still know how to put at truck down the highway.

its all so they can get you to pay for your job (retrain) and then pay you lower wages as if you never driven before trucking has become nothing more than a scam for the bigger trucking company's

Seems like a case of supply and demand, and right now it's an employers' market.
We need them more than they need us and they can be as picky as they please.
I was off the road for three years in the mid 80s and again in the early 90s.
Went back to driving both times without a hitch, but things were booming then.
The hiring criteria has changed with the economy and there doen't seem to be a ###### thing we can do about it.
