Rand McNally ELD-50 - Are we the only ones having issues?

You got it all wrong. You MAKE him money and then he pays you portion of that .

 

Okay, I'll clarify:

After I make him some money, he pays for my fuel, tolls, truck, maintenance, secretaries, sales department, land line phones, authority, advertising, insurance, trailer, computers and cameras,,,

AND THEN HE PAYS ME WADS OF MONEY,

,,, and whatever's left he gets to keep.

I don't know how he makes the payments on his Escalade.

(I kid, because he's actually a really cool boss. But we all wish we could get higher rates.)

 

Were you able to get switched away from RM? I was using RM TND765 and had nothing but issues. I finally jumped ship after I had to replace the device twice.

 

Everytime I called the support over there they could never help me. POS device let me tell ya! Glad I got away from them..

 

Wow.....I just read this thread start to finish, purely outta curiosity. All this tech talk bout corrupted files, updates, proper usb cables, etc etc. I know I’ll catch flak for this, but I’ve never seen a corrupted file on paper logs. Lol.

 

They just need to learn how to trip plan better.

 

All this talk bout trip planning, what does that have to do with an eld malfunctioning? Also, trip planning may be an easier thing to do where you live compared to where I do. Where I live you can drive 8 hours before finding the next safe and reasonable place to stop for the night. So now because I can’t make it 8 hours down the road on 7.5 hours of drive time, I must shut down? Complete and utter bs.

 

It's a complete joke. When some of us were fighting to stop eld, all the pro eld guys screamed trip planning.

Heres a scenario......my truck spent 6 hours on a dyno for programming issues. I logged out of my eld. Unassigned driver time event occurred. I declined the time. Safety guy flipped his lid. Told me it’s my truck, I’m the only driver on it. So the drive time is mine. Really?? The truck never moved an inch!! And yes, this actually happened.

 

Rand McNally sucks.
All their GPS units and anything electronic is total garbage.
