I find it hysterically funny that a guy talks about making good money and lumber and container loads. You'd have to really try hard to find something that pays as bad as lumber and containers. That's some off the cheapest freight there is.
And then it's leasing a truck. More comedy.Muddydog79, stwik, p608 and 3 others Thank this. -

Speed does NOT equal money in this industry, brother. Speed equals increased fuel cost, increased maintenance cost, increased wear and tear on equipment, increased risk, increased driver fatigue, increased fines (how in the world are you getting away with 80mph on I-95? Romulan cloaking device?) and so on and so forth.
I'll keep my slower truck (and better paying freight than port containers), and laugh all the way to the bank. With my lower fuel costs and cheaper to maintain truck and lower stress and better safety score and lower insurance premiums, thank you.
It's not just what you make, it's what you KEEP!cdavis188, Roberts450 and Speed_Drums Thank this. -

Well heck dang howdy, I never drive under 90 mph and my tanks have more fuel in them at the end of the day than at the beginning!
Have to slow down to 75 mph to get the truck to use more fuel so they don't overflow on me!
I'm not only the best driver that ever was, but I'm super smart too!
I took physics in grade 9 for 4 years in a row and graduated at the top of the class one year, best in badminton and ringette!

my little plastic freight shaker can pull off some 80+mph passes hell I think I can get into the mid 90’s if right conditions are met on a flatlands. it sure is fun seeing the Pete’s and Kenny’s on the road surprised when I blow passed them because they don’t know how to drive and I have to get away from stupid ASAP.
But my lady is special, only a select few get to witness her sing.
in other words if she’s singing 24/7 her song is worthless.
oh I’m also going to edit this to say I get mid 7’s all day every day going up and down every which way, beats getting 5 from here to Sunday, and I saved $600 in fuel last week gee what a good day.
I’m bored. Back to bickering.Last edited: Dec 12, 2019
