The sad part is this isn’t the “first time at the rodeo” in that neck of the woods. Remember I-35 NB near Ankeny? Enough said.

    Snow and ice
    Ice and snow
Atlanta and Florida no ice and snow.
Hey Swift .... you all need to chain up and drive on. Swift/knight holdings can’t afford for you slaves to sit there in bad weather !!!!! Chain up and get moving !!!!!!

Just had the best steak in my life at Trump Doral international , and best single malt scotch to go with it. 72 degrees and beautiful. Go chain up drivers don’t be a sissy la la like me.

    Grouch and x1Heavy Thank this.

Hey Swift don't stop for a few fender benders. You will make your load late again.

Everyone in that accident got what they deserved. Rain or shine or snow and ice, everyone driving through Des Moines on I-80 drives like a dam fool, ESPECIALLY the big time truckdrivers. 30' -100' following distance, never 4-6 seconds, rolling along at 65-70 mph. Yep, thats me in the right lane doing 58 mph if its dry, watching all of you idjits.

I was about an hour behind all that happening. When that storm blew in it was like a wall, visibility went to zero quick. I had a heck of a time making it to Newton to pull off and wait it out. I pulled back onto 80 after sitting for two hours and it was like the snow never happened. Went from zero visibility and not being able to keep my empty truck on the road from the wind to both lanes being completely dry when I left. It came through quick.

You know what I say when my young family members ask about driving around trucks? "Get away, very far, far away!" Too many things can go wrong. I know we are all professionals, but stuff happens. Please, please, please don't get between us.

Exactly, I've gotta a cousin in her late 30's, I was riding with her on I90 around vantage and theres a truck in front she goes over to pass him then when he starts up the hill and slows down she starts pacing him!! I look over and say use the f@#!#@@ skinny pedal and get AROUND HIM, she did then later asked for an explanation! SMH

I think the Professional trucker should ask themselves, how the heck did I let myself get caught inside this pack? I'm going to back it down until there's at least four seconds of space in front of me, and double that if it's slick.

mjd4277, magoo68 and Long FLD Thank this.
