    Actually you do and they did. They specifically stated the fatality “rate” was the highest since 1988. Fatality rates are based on VMT, specifically 100,000,000 VMT. It’s in the study notes.

    Just playing devils advocate, we also have to take into account the vastly safer vehicles we have these days vs 1988. Better brakes, collision avoidance systems, under-ride protection etc etc.

    We also have better road technology and signage.

    Still the death rate rose

    Also to make another note; not all drivers have access to personal conveyance. Roehl doesn't allow it at all. Jrayl only allows it if your told to move. Swift is the only company Ive actually been to that allows PC for a personal reason. Whereas back in the paper log days; any driver could just drive to a restaurant off duty, no biggie.

    With Rohel the owner operator is exempt from the restriction. Not sure with Jrayl.
