This was just our civil wedding. We're doing the big religious one in May and the honeymoon in September or October

First of all - good luck and I wish you the best in all you do.

There are a few things for you to know and be aware of though. In a lease purchase program you typically end up paying roughly 4 times (weekly amount vs monthly payment) what you would if you bought a truck or leased it from a leasing company (Penske/Ryder etc.).

Even then - you are still leasing in reality - not buying, in most of these programs. That means at the end of it you can either do it all over again with another new truck, pay a huge residual payment to buy the truck you have, or walk away and go do something else.

These programs exist to appeal to egos - not business logic.

Having said that we humans are emotionally driven creatures vs logic-driven in the first place, so it will continue.

The reality is these programs CAN STILL WORK for you - if you know what you are doing - and if you are willing to pay the price.

You are going to have to run and run hard and smart to make more than you would as a company driver.

Track everything you do. Then compare ALL COSTS. Calculate your true NET INCOME. Run the numbers again on what you would have earned as an efficient company driver. Use that for future decision making.

Again, I wish you the best of luck and hope to read about your success.

Yeah no doubt it's hard having the payment every week. Won't get mad about it though, as I willingly made that choice after doing my homework. I didn't exactly have any substantial down payment at my disposal when I got fired from my previous job, so going to a dealer over SFI didn't feel like a viable option. Plus my credit isn't awesome.

When it comes to ego, I can have my moments like anyone but I don't feel better than anyone else driving around a new truck. I don't brag about "owning" it or the like. I'm a driver just like anyone else. Fancy chrome sunshades, fat antennas, lugnut covers and extra lights do nothing for me except burn a hole in my pocket. I plan to keep this truck mostly as-is. If I add anything at all it'll be for additional fuel efficiency, like tow hook covers for the front bumper, drive wheel covers and maybe the new lower clearance bumper Freightliner has now. I've pulled some heavy loads the last few days and I'm a little disappointed my lifetime mpg dropped from 9.2 to 8.8

You ever wonder if God likes to watch people suffer? Because I was a month and a half away from catching up on all my bills until THIS #### HAPPENED.
Trailer next to me swiped my hood as they tried to leave the PFJ in Texarkana, AR. Thankfully got their info and reported the incident to Schneider. But I just started this gig a month ago! I can't afford the downtime for repairs!!

I'm losing my mind.. somebody shoot me and get me out of my misery

Man that is too bad. At least you got the info of the responsible truck which is way better than if you didn't. Hopefully it can get resolved relatively quickly.
