What should I expect from my dispatcher on my first load. How do I handle the paperwork?

They should train you on the paperwork in orientation. As for the dispatcher, well... Nevermind.

Dispatchers are unruly bears disturbed and constantly ripped away from their hibernation by a pack of needy bears that wont take no for a answer. One dispatcher looking past you as you lamely try to explain why you were late again to the accomodation of your gaming needs on the laptop rather than be scheduling your sleep time and arrival EARLY is not listening to you. You are wasting his time and yours.

Newbie's first lesson, don't park your personal car near or at the ends of your designated parking row particularly if it is next to caddies and so forth of reserved Suit parking. They usually nail a hubcap above their door as a trophy.

When you lean on the counter all alone and 4 dispatchers work hard to ignore you while working phones for every little thing you are not welcome. So, stand on the counter and speak up. This is previously a dispatchers office, I am your driver so one of you dispatch me somewhere, we are wasting time here. Why do I even bother? In a loud booming voice designed to reach past into the halls that contain suits with very big ears and small wallets.

If they insist on silence and ignoring, look at the clock and say GEE, you all get to go home in 10 minutes until Monday, on this fine friday PM full of childrens sports games around this area.

I'll see you all monday morning expecting a load and ready to work then. If you all cannot deal with that then then we are not longer employer employee. So which is it?

And you wonder how fast dispatchers eliminate you with loads of work that send you FAR FAR AWAY from this galaxy.

Communicate. Give them a call when ur loaded let them know ur eta for delivery, if u have any problems make them the first person to know and if its ur job to communicate with the customer as well then do that too. When u get close to ur delivery maybe the day before. Call them back give them an update and throw in the question, hey u guys got anything set up for me at delivery point? Just communicate , its not rocket science . its the most important thing in this business. #### happens , weather happens, traffic happens, problems happen, truckin happens. Everybody in the equation understands that , and u will be ahead of alot of drivers if ur willing to pick up the phone and make those phone calls.

Heh. What company? Someone who works or has worked for that company might be better suited to give you advice.
