What it took to move a local shipment(less than 250 miles) 6 months ago is now half priced.

If it was paying $1000 then, it's paying $400 now.

A load that was paying $600 then, now has to go through $50 worth of tolls, needs 8 foot tarps paying $300.

A load that was paying $500 then, now has 3 different stops paying the same amount.

I see trucks and trailers for sale everywhere now.

I live in Michigan. I remember going skiing in Colorado when I was 14. Dad brought two cases of Coors back home because it was a novelty. Seems so far fetched now . LOl

Canadian trucks? Us Canadians cannot legally move freight a to b in the us. But yet the us trucks come here and do it constantly. Get off your high horse.

No high horse here. Under the recent Nafta Mexico and Canada can move from A to B inside the USA. We generally go into Canada loaded and come out empty. This seriously keep things very simple in Canada. In out no issues.

I don't know where the high horse came from, but I think you will be a new addition to my famous list and you and I would just have to not deal with each other again. Good day.

Tons of Canadians move freight within US. They just change BOLS and get going

As do American trucks in Canada. Have seen both instances personally. I myself load for USA from Canada, then reload back to Canada. No point to point in the USA under NAFTA agreement or changing BOLS. My point is it goes on on both sides. Those who think it doesn’t are blind.

That has worked for me coming up north. After my terrible rate up to Colorado. I’ve booked to 2 Wyoming loads $2.50/mile and $3.10/mile. Granted they were only 200-300 miles.
Now I’m trying to move south and I was able to get TQL to give me $2/mile, 1200 miles down to Arizona. That broker gave me a sob story about losing money on it, but later admitted that the load to truck ratio was in my favor.

Only reason I wanted to leave WY is because a lot of road closures when weather gets bad and there’s a good chance of not being able to detour. I’ll definitely be back after winter.

Don't trust the TQL load until it's on your trailer and you have the BOL.. they have a habit of doing shady things like forgetting to send you the ratecon hoping they find someone cheaper. Then if they do send it, and they find someone cheaper they will try the "oh the load canceled" routine and give it to the other guy. (the forum here is filled with these stories from TQL)

ie don't move your truck on a TQL load unless you have the ratecon..and even then don't move the truck too far.. because by the time you get there they might have found someone else..

But to be fair, they tell you that the load is first come, first serve. Trinity gave me the same notice or ‘warning’, as I call it.

I received the ratecon while still on the phone with broker, so no worries. I was about 2 hours from the load and went straight to it.

Best part is that it’s a tarp load. Got to the shipper and they wrapped it themselves and told me tarp wasn’t needed. Too easy.
