Today I got to strap up in the Tennessee snow storm. Wet snow blowing sideways on me and just when I thought I was done with all ten straps I realized I had done all the straps on the outside of the rub rail, now how am I going to get that Conestoga closed?
And I did it right in front of a couple other truckers as well just to make things worse.
This is like starting trucking all over on my first day!

The rear winch is shredding the tire when under a heavy load and when I was backing up an inclined truck parking spot. Thought I hit something when I heard the noise at first. Had to get out twice to look before realizing the winch was digging into the tire.
It is not slide able like the rest. Is this a common problem? That supersingle is looking pretty bad where it gets shredded on the edge and needs replacing. -

Reason for edit: looked at the picture wrong and thought the winch was forward of the axle center -
Sometimes trailers take along time to fully inflate the airbags. If they leak, or the bags dump when the brakes are set it could take some time to air them back up.
That's usually when it happens, when the airbags are low. But not always. Might want to remove the winch and use a ratchet strap? They make them for 4" straps. Although you can't tighten them down as tight. -
Thmis winch is bolted onto the rail do it ain't moving anywhere. Just going to have to take it off for them myself so this doesn't happen again.

yeah, i second the stake pocket winches. they even make 'backwards" ones for connies.
way way way better than hand ratchets. (if you can make it work, not always possible, right tool for the job and all)Cabinover101, cke, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this. -
Do stake pocket winches work on a Conestoga?
