What was the problem with your situation?? I have a 13speed eaton trans and I was driving down the highway in 8 high or, 13th gear at roughly 60 65 mph and all of a sudden the gearshift popped itself out of gear and a loud bang was heard from the transmission scared the hell out of me, I slid the shifter right back into 8th gear and the whole gear was gone(This was the first time I ever experienced the truck popping out of gear) I now have no 4th or 8th gear can anyone help me out on this its a 2015 freightliner Coronado we do a lot of training on these trucks at work so the trucks do get abused since the newbies are cutting their teeth on them and, that doesn't help, I was told it could be a sliding clutch I am so pissed this happened I hate to be without my truck while its out for repair any help or thoughts would help.

Slap-out usually occurs when the sliding clutch on the mainshaft gets worn out. If you lost 5th and 9th in the main (low side has 5 gears, top side has 4) then you've got an issue in the main box. If all other positions work, you've likely sheared the teeth off the 5th gear main clutch.

Alright I'm confused. In a 13 speed you have 5 gears on the low side, then on the high side you have 4 that can be split, making a total of 8 gears. 8+5=13.

So if you lost the top hole in low range and top hole in high range, you lost 5th and 9th. If all other gears are fine, chances are your sliding clutch or its matching gear are stripped out.

yea correct I just wasn't counting low gear it will be getting looked at stripped or worn out I don't know I do a lot of training so the truck takes its share of abuse, I hate doing it but the extra money is nice thanks for the help

Training definitely abuses a truck. I drove a FL Classic when I took driver training 8 years back and the transmission was so sloppy I kept bashing my knuckles against the dash.
