The rookie

how do you know how much you took off or is it a feel thing?

 

Week 2 Day 1 Had another day of just riding. Pretty laid back. Had a split drop at 2 sunoco’s and then a drop at ford. Tomorrow I start training at our Detroit yard

 

naw brother I’m running local out south East mich so that must’ve been one of our out of town guys.. Im finding out that our company is into a bit of everything

 

Week 2 Day 3 Day three off the bat was kinda crazy. Delivered to the airport twice. Had to get escorted across the tarmac when there was a break in planes taking off. Wanted to take a picture but you know.. security reasons I didn’t want to be that guy lol and then it ended with us taking a load to a gas station where we had to trouble shoot some issues.

 

Week 2 day 3. Got my first actual taste of the full job I shall say. Got loaded with diesel and headed to a truck stop was told he wasn’t getting out of the truck. Dropped 10000 gallons no issues or hiccups. Got my first bit of experience driving to marathon Detroit to get carded.. also my first bit of experience driving a Pete. Had to get used to the pedals being on the floor. Good news is I got my 1st card.
I think I’m good with everything unload wise. Loading wise I’m good with setting/ hooking up. I just need to get familiar with these loading screens. Seems that’s going to be the toughest part of the job as a rookie. To properly load each compartment

 

Loving the job. got my second card did a couple of pump offs I think they have me doing another week of training/ getting carded out of the Detroit area then out to my home terminal for a final week of training til I’m on my own but enjoying the process. My training check during the slow season has already been nicer than my top big pumpkin checks and less stressful. Hadn’t had to make an appointment time, wait on hold or to be called back for anything, plus I’ve slept in my own bed ever since...
