This company pays 1099 when it’s suppose to be w-2. No sick days, the admin is a mess, pay checks can’t get cashed at times, so you have to wait. The morale is very low. They don’t do anything for their drivers except bicth and complain. They don’t have any workers comp. the equipment is all beat up and run down. And they even curse and yell at you if you allow them to. It’s pretty bad, I wouldn’t waste my time.

You thought that you were working under W-2, let me ask you, "did you fill out the IRS forms W-4s"? If not this should have been a big, big red flag. After your first check, were taxes withheld? If not, at that very moment you should have said, "bye bye".

Well, you ain't the first to be lied to and BS'd by a trucking outfit, and you sure as hell won't be the last. It's just the nature of this crooked biz. Best to just move on down the line and live and learn. You don't even need a reference from these clowns, as long as you got a clean CDL in your pocket, there's always another job around the bend. Plenty of good paying local work in the NJ area.

I can remember not that long ago seeing Triple Crown Express in one of the many job magazines that I pick up in truck stops for reading entertainment. As I've always said, if the company has to advertise for drivers, there is usually a good reason for that. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean well for the drivers. Stop and think about it. If the company was actually as good as they say they are, would they not need to advertise? Just by word of mouth, they should have a backlog of applications to be read. I know that I had to wait for almost a year to get into where I work. I was lucky that 3 people retired so I was able to be hired. That's what I call a good company.

There was a trucking company with the name of "Triple Crown" which was owned I believed by a railroad company. This was a few years back. They basically did work for the rail. I believe it was owned by Norfolk Southern or Norfolk Western. Now they were legit.
I did a search, it was Norfolk Southern who owned Triple Crown and somewhere around 2015 they started farming the Intermodal work out to other carriers.Last edited: Dec 22, 2019
