69-car pileup on Interstate 64 sends dozens to hospital near Williamsburg
Didn’t I predict that one day a pileup will happen in that crap road lol? Well it finally happened.
Scales there should be permanently closed. The chances of a 4wheeler hitting the back of your trailer as you enter to the scales is very high
I64 VA, 69 Vehicle pileup

I am not surprised. I used to run that way more days than i am willing to count. Its uncountable. It only takes several to screw it up and the rest of them are collateral damage. Tsk.

With people (cars and trucks) treating the roadways like a NASCAR track, is anything else to be expected?
We all see the pileups in the races, yet no one seems to get the clue that it should not be the case on our streets and highways.upnorthwpg, Upinsmoke, 201 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sounds about right, Virginia drivers are terrible. Even a 10 car pile up would be ridiculous.

While cellphones are a contributing factor but i think the biggest issue with the roads nowadays is the fact that almost anyone can get a drivers license whether or not they truly understand or respect the rules of driving. The two most valuable driving assets are being courteous and keeping at least 2 car length between you and other vehicles. If everyone followed those rules i would bet my life that accidents like these would decrease dramatically. But when you have everyone in a rush combined with a selfish attitude like they are the most important person on the road, well these are the results. People should be denied a drivers license if they cant follow the rules of the road. Its a shame that some laws really are impossible to enforce. What we need are cameras every 2 miles to enforce the following distance and cellphone usage rules. If it catches you violating either, it takes a picture of your license plate and you get a nice ticket in the mail.
