Need Some info here please! First off, I know it's werner and i've read alot flak on here about them, and i don't dought much of it. Any one have any info on this division? Got the okay today to go to orientation next week, not really psyched about it, but right now I need to work more than i need my pride!

Recruiter got off the phone pretty quick, no details on pay(I have 6yrs otr) or hometime(don't really matter), not a good sign I know. But like I said right now I need to work and I'm between rock and a hard place. Thanks

I am new and currently working for Werner. Frieght is way up. Dispatch is pushing the loads on me. I am showing up at deliveries and being told by the customer my appointment was not until tomorow but since your hear just put in the door and grab an empty.

I am 48 states but trained in Midwest Reginal.

I assume if you are Reginal your pay will be on a sliding scale per trips instead of a flat rate. (eg. 50 cents for (1-100 miles) 45 cents for (101-200 miles) 15 cent for (500+)) Even if you are Midwest, they still may send you anywhere in the 48 states.

My advice is goto to Werner and start right away if you do not have any other options. Expect to be asked to do something you may not want to do. Example, go team.

    Good luck.

Thanks Nascar, Pay scale is odd! Can't be for the benefit of the driver. Will definately pass on running team! They didn't offer me 48 states just midwest or eastern div. 15 cents seems very, very bad for decent miles. Any one know average length of haul for this division?

From what i hear frieght is down for that division and you should expect to be sent anywhere, but that is the same for every reagion at the moment. i suspect it may be thier way of getting quasi-48 staters without having to pay the 48 state pay.

Hometime is 1 day off for every six days out. I get around 2500 miles most weeks im out. I go basically anywhere tho. I usually go from Illinois to Georgia some where. Then to Canada then back to nc or sc then back to canada etc. I only seem to actually be in what werner consiters the midwest when I am about to go on hometime.

Thanks for the replies. What could I expect as an average for pay? I'm really hoping another company calls at this point. The pay scale makes no sense to me.

Other questions, Can drivers get an advance after orientation? or when they get their truck? How long is the wait for a truck after orientation? Any choice on trucks? Is Canada mandatory? I don't know what you need now to cross the border.

No idea about cash advances, I have never used it. I got my truck 2 days after I finished training. I had a choice between a kenworth t600 and a freightliner classic (only 2 trucks they had when i was there). To cross the boarder you need to have either a passport or the card that lets you make land crossings into canada/mexico ( i forget what its called) and you can never have been convicted of a felony. It isnt mandatory but it will help your miles if you can go there.

    Joker213 Thanks this.

Yes you can get advances, but that is probably a bad idea becuase you will be cutting the next week's paycheck. Dont really want to be chasing the money. Im pretty sure the limit is $70 during training and after gaining your truck it depends on how much you run. As far as choosing your truck I wouldnt count on it, but if you say you'll run canada at least you can get a short nose that way.
