It is a sad state of affairs that they had been working that wreck long enough for the news to be out there filming it, and no traffic control in use. I could see it if it had just happened.

So correct. Oh yeah get the film crew out..but no cop(s) set before the scene to warn traffic to slow down? Almost had to be a warning, mayby ? Thats just screwed up.

Blame the cops if you want, but from what I saw in the video that truck was moving along waaay to fast for conditions.... If you need someone to "warn you" that there's heavy fog, ice, snow just outside your windshield and you should really slow down, you don't belong behind the wheel, sorry.....

Ya, I posted this thread without seeing that it had been posted on another. Believe it's been posted like 3 or 4 times now actually LOL...

I've seen it on several news media sites, lots more than you generally see for a truck accident that's for sure...

Bud A. and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I was not there, so am sure not about to start putting the driver down, especially when the other traffic was doing the same thing, even already had wrecks. lol
Have you never hit a dip and it was filled with fog? we don't know what the road looked like 100 feet away.

What I do know is that a trooper thought it was safe enough to not need any sort of traffic control, maybe because it was not as bad as what it looks like on the video, but for some reason, unless just bad judgement.

This is a good "Bad example" video.
Same reply as on the other post for this video.
    FLARES!!
    IMMEDIATELY!!

Several flares burning - it sure has only one unmistakable meaning; Danger!

I agree with above comments there should have been flares,
and also driver was going too fast for conditions.
I never take my eyes off the oncoming lanes on an interstate Tow call.
I don't want to be surprised by something like this coming at me.

Please "slow down and move over" for first responders.
Our lives may depend on it.

Dino soar, Bud A. and allniter Thank this.

If the driver'd had his ears on, he probably would've known about the wreck.
If the driver'd used his head, he'd have been at a more appropriate speed for that thick of a fog bank.
If the driver'd been at an appropriate speed AND had his ears on... this wreck on a wreck never would've happened
