I have the NOAA app on my phone. If I think there's a storm brewin, I'll stop and look it over. Mostly, though, the weatherman gets it wrong by a day or two and, as the story goes, his wife still isn't sure what six inches really is.

Thank the Administration, starting with Reagan, for cutting the budgets of all public services (including robbing Social Security). Nowadays everything comes out of the Computer in Sutland, MD.

Budget cuts, you're on your own, sucker,,besides, they probably figured, why are we wasting resources on weather alerts, they'll just pile into each other anyway.:p

They are great after the fact. They close the roads after the foot of ice and snow, or the river flooding washed out the bridges.

Maybe in states that don’t see much bad weather, in the upper Midwest they are very proactive.

My complaint is the way they give warnings. "tornado warning for the area 20 miles either side of the line running from 15 miles North, Northwest of Ant Mound Nebraska to 30 miles West of Beesmash Kansas."

I ran the same route from Nashville, TN to Muscle Shoals, AL. Even after doing that for 4 years, it was rare I recognized even ONE of the locations they mentioned. I just use radar. While meterologists are better guessers than non-meterologists I prefer to see what is happening NOW over there and judge the movement of the weather system compared to my location or route. I don't need to here everyone's anxious reaction. I need to here the facts.

    I like MyRadar app
