I just got my inverter in the mail. I went with the aims 3000w pure wave. And omg this thing is massive! I'm a bit nervous to install this thing in my truck. I got the install kit with it, which recommended the 1/0 awg gauge wires. They're bigger then my trucks battery cable wires. Anyone run a 3000w pure wave inverter in their truck? What cable sizes did you use? I'm nervous about my truck burning down lol

I run a 7000 peak 3,500 continuous one in my service truck.
Ran 0/0 wiring all the way.Wespipes Thanks this. -
The two main things are the fuse and terminal ends.
You want the fuse as close to the battery as possible.
The terminal ends need to be tight on the cable or you can have heat build up there. -

I am having this professionally installed. Getting an apu put on the truck Thursday. He said hed install it no charge.

It should have a remote switch included. In not you can also put a battery disconnect switch that will cut power completely to the inverter while not in use

They only draw as much power as the load you place on it.
If you never put any more than 1500 to 2000 watt loads on it you'll be good. -
Currently have that same inverter in this truck.
No problems. Fuse at battery terminal, 0/0 wire. Also soldered the terminal ends, then used heavy shrink tube on them. Make sure to put grommets any where the wire passes through holes. Use good ones. Keep the run as short as possible.
