A friend of mine had a sedan at 125+ down one of the state highways known for speed and found himself out of time and room. He just locked that big car up. He hit at about 70 or so, they had to cut him out. The action he took ultimately saved his life. But put him into the hospital for at time. Since it was raining at night fortunately he did not leave evidence behind as to how much he was Really going.

He's passed a few years ago. He had a defect in one of the big veins that returns blood to the heart in the back for years and one day shoveling snow it just burst. He died fast. Not too many people like that one. He is missed.

Well... Its worse than that in the olden days before this here internet you see... there was a farm on about a mile and change not far from home and I would have her opened up all out. I did not pay this farm any mind until one day my workplace door squeaked, enter a Police Officer (Captain so and so or other...) gave him coffee and he takes his hat off...

Eyes my crummy ford out in my spot and says that thing running ok last night maybe?

**Deer trap... think fast** erm I wouldnt know Officer.

Ahem... your glasspacks woke us all up last night, I checked already. And he had me cold on the time I passed his farm.

Now the Officer bid me a good day and left.

Aint no passing that farm at moving along anymore thats for sure. It did not take much for word to get around on a small number of us who enjoyed fast cars in those days. One day one of my regular customers who came in like clockwork with a Diablo and his wife on sundays to fuel and was hitting third 2 miles past the second set of highway lights green away fell in behind me at 135 one night going home. He had to literally putt putt putt in deep 3rd waiting for me to move out of his way before we both hit a particular half mile zone. There was no way I could ever hope to keep up with him. I got to just about 140 or so and he was already gone at 165+ what a car he had.

The next day the Police Captain came in for a short talk and coffee asking about the other car with me past his farm....

    *Sigh...*

Back in the 80's in a 4 wheeler I got pulled over doing 102 on US 93 between Las Vegas and Ely. The cop asked me for my pilot's license. He said "Look I know we're in the middle of nowhere but slow down." and let me go.

Where was this at? I was pulling a set of B trains running snow chains and raced a car while doing 130+. I was in a single axle R model with a 237 Mack and 5 speed with 4.88’s on bias ply. If your friend is who i was thinking, he owes me $10 for beating him and another $10 for making a single axle wheelie on chains.
