Was this at "Suprvalu" in Tacoma? Where your doors touch the doors on both sides? and you have to pull your mirrors in or else lose them? By touch the doors, l mean the doors of the vans on both sides of you. These ancient doors were spaced for 96" wide trailers. The 102" are too wide.

    That’s the place! Lovely, isn’t it? :biggrin_25512:
Back in the day, I worked for Viking Freight/FedEx Freight, and I would have to put a 28’ pup into one of those holes. I could barely squeeze in and out my door.

Thanks for correcting me on the name. I’d blocked it out, couldn’t remember what it was.

That's it? Not too bad. Those 26 pallets are probably going to double or even triple if you are told to stack it on small wood.

Thats one thing I make sure never to do again ever. Ive spend my life doing that crap and frankly they can stick it. I DONT mind helping in this way if you show me the money instead of me charging you 300 dollars I'll do it for 150 cash on card. Pay me. Give me 6 hours and a shut eye rest. don't bother putting on next load until I tell you that I am ready because I am not. Otherwise you get a filthy stinking driver, a bad smelling truck, piles of dirty laundry in pax seat with flies circling on and into the bag and so on.

Bad isnt it? Give me a half day and don't complain. You knew what do I do to get empty this day and then some. No complaining allowed.

In my time no one paid more than say 60 for floor load of anything and maybe 100 for seafood or meat loads. MAYBE. And then only to a crew of two or more.

I tell you what. That pair in Georgia one time. Lawd. Gives them these blessings of being a giant And the skill not to break the case of 6 -6 gallon containers glass of Apple Cider, raw unpasteurized. The good stuff that if you carefully let it rest 3 weeks you have pain medicine ready for work.

Well, I’m back here again. Over two hours into my appointment and they haven’t even started unloading me. And most of the inbound carriers are gone.

I seriously do not miss pulling into those places.. Candy loads where the worst! Next to babyfood! Small boards.. sometimes a single case, you really cannot work around that stuff.. it there are at least three cases of something you can stack the pallets on other pallets.. Market Wholesale and Sysco were the worst!

Was. The operation is being closed and moved to a new, enormous distribution center in Chehalis, I believe.
