System drivers at HYTT are in new Anthems. Fridge, microwave, inverter, bunk heater's. Keep moving so far. Just saying.
Highway Transport, I drive for them and can answer questions.

How long is the tanker training for experienced drivers at Highway ? I pulled single hole no baffle and multi-compartment tankers for Younger brothers out of Houston but that was 20 years ago.

Hey folks! My company (A robotics company) decided they wanted to shut down the operations side of the company so i'm the last of 3 drivers recovering/returning trucks to the lease places and will probably be laid off in a week or so. Been doing van the past 4 months and it reminded me why I switched to Flatbed/Heavy a number of years ago. So boring! I like to deviate from the norm. I've hauled gasoline/diesel and propane trailers for 2 years between 2013 & 2015 so tank is nothing new to me. Started searching I came across ads for HYTT and am really considering them on the system side as the pay seems so much better than van/reefer... i'm getting too old for flatbed anymore. The Garland, TX, location is about 55 miles from my house in N. Ft Worth so that's not too bad I suppose. I have a few of my own, more specific, questions. I plan to call recruiting once i'm done here and start the process for my Hazmat & TWIC, again, but I wanna see what info I can squeeze out of y'all.
Ads are saying up to .65cpm. I know that is probably top of the range. What is the actual payscale? I don't wanna go back thru 9 pages, but did I read there is a mileage pay scale?
How is the insurance and what are the rates? 3 plans? I know it can vary person to person, but looking for a general weekly cost. Short/long term disability? (I'm gonna eventually need 2 surgeries that will have me down 3 months at a time).
Driver facing camera? I've read about so many companies I can't remember if anyone said yay or nay.
How long is training, typically, in Knoxville for a newbie on chem tanks? I saw someone said 2 weeks but I believe that was in reference to experienced tanker yanker.
How does the Guarantee Plus Pay work?
What is the size of the bunk on the Mack Anthems, since I'm looking at system running? I hate tiny bunks!
I'm sure i'll think of more. Thanks guys!mlavelle3 Thanks this. -

There was a guy that was in orientation with me who was going to be working out of the Garland terminal doing the Ecolab account lots of out and backs but you had to wear the Gumby suit most of the time

While regional isn't really my cup of tea i'll take it if that's all they offer me. I'm more of an OTR irregular route kind of guy... and given the amount of my student loan debt i'd rather be OTR and make money than be regional and have more home time. I love my family and my home time, but trucking is a vacation compared to being home!
