I would try for dedicated. Washing out all the time would get old. Haul the same product and you won't have to wash out all the time. Well unless you are food grade stuff

This is true, but depends on the company.

I do "super-regional" foodgrade, and I mostly drop off dirty empties, then pick up a clean one or a preload.
I seldom "live wash", but I run into guys from other companies who live wash all the time.

I'm interested in Tanker and looking into the local side. :) Or at least the better hometime side.

Martin Transport is advertising 3 days home every week (Mobile, AL) so I'm curious about them.

I've heard mixed opinions about Martin, mostly very good, however, what I've seen of them and how I've interacted with their drivers... they are very nice. I drove for Groendyke until last week, 1 full year. I was fortunate enough to get back to a job in sales and marketing, which is what I was doing before Groendyke.

I noticed that they (Martin) have their new drivers ride with an experienced driver for a while... which I think is very good. Some places we load and unload are tricky, all the requirements are different, just a total pain at times. If you suffer from LOW blood pressure, go load and unload at places you've never been before... it's an adventure and will DEFINITELY increase your blood pressure!

Yeah, I hear mixed opinions about them to. Their management seems okay or at least approachable, but heard there can be issues with the trailers.

I wish it was easier to learn more about it up front than just jumping in.

Only way I know is to find an area they run a lot and talk to some of their drivers. But even then it can be a crap shoot.
