    Yes
    It’s quite rural for sure.
When I tell people I’m from NY they assume I am from nyc lol.
I tell them where I come from it’s all mountains and cows lol.
My home town where I come from literally has a little over 400 people that live there.

Numb, PE_T and bzinger Thank this.

Ny has the same problem il does. Would be great states if not for one city in each.

They set up in the unadilla rest area on I 88 just west of Oneonta and also on I 86 rest area just east of Nichols ny a fair amount.
I run this route often and I have to say I also have never been bothered at either stop?

Dealing with the DOT in rest areas is easy... travel between 10pm-4am and unless they're running a blitz (happens occasionally) you shouldn't see anyone.

This is true to a point I guess but all of NY state has been on a downward spiral for many many years now.
No one can even afford to live there anymore with the crazy laws our law makers pass and also the huge taxes we pay.

    PE_T and bzinger Thank this.

In my dart days in the late 80s I ran 17 alot going to mass and new Hampshire.
Shannos meat haulers could always be found along there too...like Spike from council bluffs .
This was also back when prime trucks hauled arse lol ..and I got out of they're way !

I know a guy who told me gets off the Sidney exit quite often for a cup of coffee and then continues East on RT 7 and gets back on at otego.
He told me he never has trouble with dot in that rest area.
I told him one day soon someone is going to figure out that game and it wasn’t going to be good.
