I personally only had experience with a mega... most of them only care about the load... except my time at freymiller transportation which i loved. And i ran for a fleet called amazing Trucking&Logistics out of Chicago heights Illinois very goooood company but my time was cut short for medical reasons so i had to bounce!

A well established trucking co will have established accounts in place and never need to go find freight. It doesn't matter if it's a 5 truck co or a 5000 truck co. You, as a driver, just want to load, drive, deliver and reload. If your co has to "work the boards" to find freight, that's getting into your pocket if you have to sit, right ?

I think my best job was with a 50 truck co that was well established and had accounts. He never worked the boards. He always had freight to book. The freight he couldn't cover he booked out. He was also an International truck dealer, so, obviously, all his trucks were internationals. He ran a tight ship and it was funny, he had never even driven a truck !

A large co is normally so large, they can't find trailers, loads, drivers or their way to the coffee room. Dick Simon trucking, not that big of a company, called their dispatch office the "war room". What does that tell you ?

    Good luck...….:newb:

Absolutely ... i never looked at it from the simple point of view... pick it up and drop it off... and if the freight is available so should the money

Small "family companies" are not any better. I would rather be yelled at by my truck number, not my name.

The whole "we treat drivers better because you are not a number"...bullshet! just because they know your name doesn't mean you will be treated with more respect. Probably be attacked on a more personal level.

That whole treated like family thing that all companies use is a joke. My family is at home not work. How about guarantee home time and don't make chase pay and pay me for my time .

I agree , like my previous post i do think the just doing the job as asked is important... but if your otr you want to have some kind of relationship with the dispatcher an so on. And you dnt want someone with a crappy attitude calling you n bothering you for no #### reason... ive always been told the mom n pop companies are good idk lol because its true if its only a few of yall running now they have time to pay all the attention to you
