Ooooh so the "founders" wrote the ICC interstate conference clause into the constituiton? Because in thier infiante wisdom, they knew. One day horse and buggy would be replaced with 18 wheel tractor trailers driving a interstate road built by the federal goverment. Sometime after they established the federal goverment.

???? So govt should not get involved in granting exceptions? But govt should mandate companies to pay over time.
We ain't been a free market capitalist nation in a long time, if ever. Please dont preach anti socialism, while talking about driving on socialist roads. NO I AM NOT A SOCIALIST! However I know there is no ONE singular best system. It takes all of the above

Let's keep the political comments out of this thread. It would be a shame to have to move it to the Political forum.

I'm not trying to be openly political, but regulation and politics deeply affect every part of this industry so it's impossible to talk about market dynamics and what affects pay and who can haul what to where without mentioning politics.

When politics mandates an ELD track every foot you drive and every second you work, then politics becomes inseparable from every foot and every second of your life. *:biggrin_2556:

I see your point. I'm also aware that political statements in the main forum are usually the start of a brawl. We discourage brawling here.
The staff of TTR has neither the time nor the inclination to referee political arguments. If they persist the person making the comments will receive infractions and could be banned entirely.
We have a special section for political topics. It's largely unmoderated but the guidelines are posted at the top of the Politics page.

Yup, all that yelling and screaming and juvenile accusatory blathering gives me a headache. It's not nice to give someone my age a headache.
Let 'em duke it out in Political. That's where most of the winos, dynos, dingbats, part time paranoids, and full time reactionaries hang out.
They spend all their time insulting each other and rehashing problems for which they offer no solutions.
The same old people say the same old things day after day. It's almost like it's scripted. Worse than that, it's boring.
