A federal court in California just told Walmart that it needs to pay truck drivers for rest breaks
"California's extra rules reduce productivity and are a drag on the economy," then-FMSCA Administrator Ray Martinez said. "Every bit of loss productivity increases costs to consumers and hurts hard-working American families."
FMSCA rules completely good for the economy!
"The agency alleged that rest breaks have upped the accident rates along the California-Oregon border, because those drivers cannot find parking. It also said rest breaks are bad for the economy."
What a bunch of hypocrits.
California rules are the only problem!

The part I take issue with is the assertion that us drivers aren't hard-working Americans.
#### that noise; I give it all I got when I'm on duty! And often when I'm OFF DUTY! And I know #### well that I'm not the only one, either! We bust our ##### and leave home for weeks, and for some of us, months at a time, driving the ever living #### outta our trucks to make everyday life possible for every last person in this country. It's an exhausting, thankless job made even harder by the drivers of 4 wheelers who are offended that we DARE travel their roads to bring them their everything, and still we do it. In my opinion, the only folks who are harder working and more American than we are would be the folks in the armed forces, putting their lives on the line to make it possible for us to move freight the way we do...truckerdave1970, MACK E-6 and HopeOverMope Thank this.
