I worked for Boasso in West Memphis Ar. I am an over 30 year driver with a great driving and employment record. I was eagerly taken back at my previous employee after Boasso. The terminal in in West Memphis disregards normal safety procedures. they will run equipment that is red tagged. I went to corporate twice to get a safe tractor. I had to go through safety. The last time a corp maintenance guy showed up and told me I was correct to do what I did. My tractor kept shutting off on the highways and streets. I hauled hazmat daily. It shut down once when I had a flammable load and was approaching rail. I lost steering and the brakes were tough. They spent over 20 grand to fix it . When I left it needed to go in the shop again. The manager will call you repeatedly on the phone maybe 10 times in a row. He will call in the middle of the night. . He will not do his job and dispatch you late so every run is an emergency. I would show up in the middle of the night to find no bills or an unsafe chassis. It is an abusive environment where you are lied too and coerced continually. I would go to the rail and not have billing and sit for hours. This would happen day after day. I would get billing and then not have a lift authorization. After you got in and got it off you would pick up a tank and not have the correct number to get out. The chassis numbers on the paperwork would be wrong. He would make 5 am appts the day after Christmas so you would have to get up at 1am to make the appt. The customer did not have any other truck loading that day. It goes on. It is a nightmare place to work. The management of Boasso is clearly aware of this and they dont do anything. I sent management a one week itinerary of the mistakes. It was two types pages. Two others also verified the problems and they came to see. This is every week. I am much happier not working there. When I talk to my friends who are there it sounds so depressing I cant believe I worked there a year.

I used to work for an outfit that had the *occasional* load that either picked up or delivered into a rail yard. Notice I said *used to work*. I will NEVER step foot in a rail yard again.
I went into the big one in Chicago ONCE. They were rude and didn't give any directions at all, just a smart ### "drop it in zone blah blah ". It got dropped in the first open spot I came to.
Jacksonville, FL was a lot better. At least they would give decent directions. But, it was still a pretty misrerable experience.
Never again!FlaSwampRat and 48Packard Thank this. -
i've tried to deliver a loaded can to the rail in charlotte, and if i did'nt have billing it would only take the lady i worked with about 30min.tops. but i don't care for intermodal anymore. good experience but thats about it........

"Boasso" Sounds like an exclamation made by Elmer Fudd
Lonesome and Frank Speak Thank this. -
I ran the Chicago yards years ago, some were definitely better than others. The Santa Fe yard, in Hodgkins was a dcent one, the IC, I think it was in Lansing was OK. Southern Pacific, (SPUD) off Damen? One of the worst.
Frank Speak Thanks this. -
