I was contacted by FMCSA they said safety score is fine but I have no record of inspections .That is the SSI score, said they want inspections sometimes therefore that shows up as not rated. They also told me every year 1% of companies get randomly picked for a higher SSI rating until inspection lowers it just to keep trucks inspected.
I understand that but don't agree with the transponder being shut off by PrePass, I can still be pulled in to a scale or roadside inspection with it on,and with it off that doesn't mean I will be inspected.

Where are the CSA scores for the shipper, receivers, and brokers?

Go to a weigh station in Nebraska and ask for a level 1 inspection

They don't operate on public roads and they have their own rules and regulations to deal with

So do you avoid weigh stations? Meaning, do you go around them deliberately? It’s strange how FMCSA would contact you. I would think they have the authority to have the next weigh station pull you in for a DOT inspection.

If you want to get inspected, then turn off your PrePass, and pull in to every single weigh station. I can assure you that you will get inspected within one week. Also, head over to Colorado. They’ll inspect you right away. My PrePass was malfunctioning, and I got 2 inspections there. Fortunately, no violations.

That's news to me, your CSA score just climbs by itself from you going periods of time without activity on it??

Now when I think about it, I am not sure if it is inactivity or they set you up with something like 80 to begin with and you go down with clean inspections.

Otherwise, I could not explain why my score was 70 a few months ago and also why the OPs score went up too despite no bad inspections.

I started over 3 years ago and had two inspections in my first 18 months and the last two in November - December 2019 - all of them clean. One thing for sure, at the very last inspection in KY he told me that my report showed 70 and insufficient data then one month later , that is the last week, Prepass told me I am 1 now, so the last two recent inspections did the trick.

BTW. I just took that Prepass for the heck of it. It is $17 a month and some change. I see it rather as a toy, if nothing else but it remains to be seen, if I want to keep it or not.

You will like it. It's a very satisfying feeling to get a green light to pass a weigh station full of barely moving trucks, especially those ones which don't have weigh in motion scales

    PE_T and TallJoe Thank this.
