Until hes is in a accident and they pull the serial number from the ECM or get it off the block. They aren't stupid people. And they get real real crafty when a fatality is involved. They find out you falsified in any way that you should of been running a ELD and you didnt. God help you my friend.

I'm not pointing fingers or judging anyone here. Just stating the facts. People think it's just so easy to pull the wool over the big man's eyes. You know you might get away with that stuff 20 years ago but it's a different world we live in now. It will all be fine I'm sure but the minute everything goes sideways they will need someone to lay the blame on. You'll be wishing you didnt fudge the valve cover sticker when they go through your company with a fine toothed comb looking for those records of a pre 99 engine you have in your 07 peterbilt. Or they find the original serial number on your block and in the ECM.

I'm going through this right now.
I have a 2016 WS glider with a Nov 4 2000 year series 60 in it. I'll be damed if I'm going to run ELDs that's for sure.
People tell me to just change the valve cover to a different year.............. no thanks.
I got a fresh 5EK CAT sitting on my shop floor waiting to go in. Along with a new wiring harrness from kustom Truck.
Problem solved and I can go down the road without a worry because I know I have nothing to worry about. Compleatly legal. 20190516_192225.jpg

Nobody is gonna do that kind of investigation for an accident. Unless you kill someone. But if you live life behind the wheel in fear of a motor serial number and worrying about killing someone, you might as well live in a protective bubble your whole life

I'm not living in fear or worrying about anything there big shooter. I'll be completely legal.
Like I said you'll probably be just fine , no one plans on killing anybody. But accidents happen everyday. Just sayin.
