I think I’m more interested in doing things that are interesting to me. And this looks interesting while getting paid the same as right now and possibly more in the future. Also added benefit of seeing my kids every day, I think that can add it the satisfaction a bit.

Just stay a trucker. No taxes to speak of and no responsibilities other than to be where I am supposed to be. The money will work out.

Remember not all of us need 300,000 a year income.

    LoneRanger Thanks this.

I'll take being home over living on the road any day.

But I like having a life, riding my motorcycle, being around my kids, and grandkids. And being able to use the things I'm paying for.

When I first started almost 20 years ago. My kids were young. I was paying full rent for 1 night a month. And a car. My friends were always hanging out.

Almost 20 years. The industry wasn't surrounded by pigs also. You could go to the bathroom and use the sink to wash your hands and brush your teeth. Nobody was washing their feet in the sink. Scrubbing between their toes.

Even I must consider some limits on personal cleaning in the sink, that's outrageous. I generally keep clean myself but thats what the shower etc is for. Or even carefully planned birdbaths with the new medical soaps that I was introduced to in surgery.

The main problem with home is sleep time.

One room usually was designated the Cave. Wife or I could go in there and sleep. As long door is shut, we love you but you are going to wait until that rest is finished then we will see about those honey do jobs.

    Let's see ...

If I had a choice to work near home without the danger of the road, no longer dealing with a lot of bs from dispatchers to other drivers in trucks and sleeping in my own warm bed every night.

Oh and make the same amount of money.

    What do you think?
