Hi before I finish reading this, comment:
Speaking from experience last year, tell you first, sofar its been the best thing i've done to help me in my career, my employer hasnt got me in a big truck but I am in equipment now, I also basically get looked at differently, like aye this boy can be trained.
onward, I recommend, going to the school, making sure they have decent instructors. Look at the workbook, I did TTCC and I would say that I am over any downside/drawback to the time of my attendance since then they improved literature, I believe they do have quality instructors and high standards of training, my instructor was a very quality human. I was the only one in my class that paid out of pocket, so do this through a grant process, I was also i believe more keen to be a good student because it was my own money. I am aware of my own sort of learning slowness, and knew it would take extra effort.
Go and actually study. ride along, dedicate your day to it, when the truck breaks down watch the mechanic. stay late.
I dont know how actually having the AZ would help you from the DZ but maybe your employer would value you having the AZ in that scenario I would move in the direction. Live your life if your drawn to truck.

AZ is 10k dont know where the 5500 number is coming from thats hella dated. its best case 10k. if the school is charging a mint, make sure they arent putting you in garbage equipment. because on test day the truck will break down bud.

Real question is who's really paying 10K for their AZ license. There are driving schools all over kijiji that charge 5-6K, my brother got his for $5500 last year. Most companies don't even care where you get your license. Got mine for $999 in brampton a 4 years ago lol.

A 1A license will set you back 4 weeks and $10k here in SK, with the new MELT program; no way around it.

10-4 WW. The website for the largest school in Calgary also shows upwards of 9K, to meet the min. hours and criteria for the new regulations. Now if there are others doing it for less that's fine. Buyer beware though.

Stuff like this boggles the mind. Throw all the money you want at it. Still can't buy your way out of stupid.

And its r e t a r d s like that causing all these crashes. There doesn't need to be training, just a common sense and intelligence test.
