I am a current lease op at Prime and I generally like it and make good money, but reefer is killing me. There are way too many 2 AM delivery appointments, and at that hour I should be sleeping and not driving. I have been talking with recruiters at Warren and ATS about going to either Warren for dry box or ATS for stepdeck. I have a buddy who's been doing well at ATS who recommended it, but my only contact at Warren left several months ago because other opportunities arose. Does anyone here have any info on these companies? I know that ATS owns Warren, but according to everyone I've talked to, they each do their own thing and operate as totally separate companies.

You probabaly will want to operate on ATS Specialized.

I actually ran for ATS for a while and found the people to be very good to be around, shops first class, their cultural demands on drivers to bend HOS in those days not welcome (Which is why I failed one of their re-assessments that contain questions like when two hours from arrival do I stop for the night due to logbook requiring SB time at that point?) Throw in a chronic fuel shortage with a single fuel tank made for a situation ripe for me looking to join someone else.

Even with those issues you still recommend ATS? Granted, ELDs would probably keep them honest about the logging and I can't imagine the single fuel tank being annoying enough to me to be a dealbreaker.

I liked ATS, my personal issues with them I leave aside. When I say such a such a company is worth looking into go for it. There are some that I will recommend regardless of how I feel about them personally in the past after being burned. The tragety was for in my case a simple financial check they could write against my pending payroll and be done with it, I would still be working for them. But no they dig in and get stubborn, then yell and argue. And thats the end of our relationship. What a waste considering what happened to them with that one load.

Why? Well, they happen to be engaged in some righteous big boy hauling and once in a while with this company you get to brush against midas and get turned into Gold now and then.

My data on them is very obsolete.

I recommend @Chinatown if he has not already shown up to help you. This one is the guru and has helped thousands in the past like yourself.

I would not worry too much about the single tank, I shouldnt even say anything about that. Generally as long you have 335 gallons in two tanks or more you are good to go.

I was hoping @Chinatown would weigh in. That dude is such a sage for company advice that he should change his name to Confucius.

Also, do you have any idea how things are on the Warren side? The freight lanes their recruiter described seem perfect for me because they run I-35 a ton and I live in OKC. Do you remember if ATS also ran similar lanes?

Are you still wanting lease-purchase or want company driver.
I posted assuming you want to remain in lease-purchase.
If you want company driver, where is your location.
www.daseke.com has good company driver positions.
