Should I try to get inspected?

    maybe i'm the odd one here, I did it once a while ago. Everything went fine, he printed me my paper and off I went!

    That audit is a new company audit. He looks at your paperwork and give you guidance.
    He might have the qualifications to do an equipment inspection. That is not on his agenda when he shoes up. Or her.

    Dot audit is about the same. If your CSA gets to high. You get red flagged for an audit.
    Before that they will send a nasty gram, stating what is wrong. Then you have a bit of time to correct it.
    If you don't they audit.

    OKKKKKK, just what do you think they look at at audits that changes your safety score?

    I have found it generally works just the opposite. I do not just drive up in a scale while making a run and ask for one, but set up a time to meet with them and get an inspection. They generally are nice and have the mindset that you want to keep your equipment up to snuff.
    It used to be that we could set it up with them and an officer would come to our shop and do however many rigs we wanted, but for some reason the state stopped that.
