Truck drivers not being able to tell the truth or communicate issues. To mant fully by night outfits think that they can deliver whenever they want. Customers want to know where their product is and got tired of being told it was on schedule only for it to be 6 hours late.

I tend to think it is because they were invented and the general public is addicted to technology. lol

Demand drives product ideas. There was a demand for it so some tech companies created a product. If there hadn't been the demand, they would have never sunk the time and cost into creating the product.

If I was an OO, I'd have my truck tracked 100% of the time. That will help prove delivery since many times I have to sign "RTS JRC" for the consignee (refuse to sign, my initials).

I'm tracked by company I pull for via samsara. I'm just a dot on a map and also shows my speed. Doesn't bother me a bit. Company trucks have more comprehensive tracking as it's plugged in to diagnostic port and records data. Mines just plugged in cigarette lighter

not to mention customers and brokers who pay for a full truck but then shady carriers try to fit a 2nd load on.

I can count on one hand the number of loads I had that specified a dedicated trailer on the contract.
I have several times in the past through a partial on to add to the load, even took some loads with the stipulation that they leave enough room for a good paying partial, if that is slimeball trucking, I reckon I be one.

That is different. We were talking about the times the customer/broker specifically is paying for exclusive use, written right into the rate con.
