Just next time driver, get out and look. Dont try to be a big shot or try and impress people just cause your afraid of what they will say. I drive a yard truck and I get out and look. It is better to do that then fill out accident paperwork and posting on a trucking site on a Friday night scared cause you might get fired.outtatime, Woodys, Cabinover101 and 5 others Thank this. -
Some companies might let you pay the deductible for fixing his truck. Red paint is a pain to match, so it might have to be the whole section repainted. The window section replaced. Best thing was to let your company know about it before they are blindsided. It will be documented against you as a preventable incident I imagine. As others have stated GOAL as many times as it takes to get it into the dock. Good luck

Did you offer to pay the guy off so no report was made? $500 mighta made him forget about what happened and just say the scratches happened while he was at a truck stop restaurant.
starmac Thanks this. -
If this was my truck you had hit I would be really mad. Specially if you never GOAL during your backing. "Just a scratch" because it's not on your truck...
starmac, Cabinover101, Midlife Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Two questions for the op.
1 - did you see or felt the accident actually take place?
2 - what part of the trailer contacted the truck where the damage took place?
I have a very specific reason why I ask this, please answer them.Woodys, beastr123 and Accidental Trucker Thank this. -
Yeah definitely get out and look.
I have done it when I was doing a straight line back. Just to make sure I was good.Cabinover101 Thanks this.
