We have a fleet of 2008 Freightliner M2s with MBE900s in western Canada. In the course of their operation, 97% of their time is spent idling. Due to the fact that these are off road service only, and will never see a paved road, are these eligible for emissions exemption? We have had numerous issues with re-gens and EGR components, causing delays to airport operations. Any info and experiences with being granted Canadian emissions exemptions would be greatly appreciated!

Before you go tearing the emissions out give this a try, Max Mileage. It will help cut the soot down and clean up the whole system. Cant hurt to try it, plus you just never know what kind of a delete your going to get. A lot of places can screw it up even worse.

I bet that you guys didn't know that Canadian government owned vehicles are emissions free from the factory. Friend of mine bought 6 f250/350 powerstrokes from Provincial auction. Where EGR cooler is supposed to be is a block off plate with Ford part# on it. That is just one example of a part #. Typical socialist government. Laws for the public are different than laws for the ruling class.

here police, embassy, military, and fire vehicles are exempt from emission standards, ambulance vehicles have to comply with emission.
most airport buy pre-emission trucks, they never get licence plates, thereby cant go on public roads unless they carry test licence plates (3-10days), in case they have to go on service.
