I only added the aftermarket DFP (filter only) and that was a few years ago. No DEF......

You have to buy from a wreck truck or anything that has to come from a 2010 engine with the complete system. You can’t just add the after treatment or burner on any engine. It won’t be complaint. It must be a complete 2010 and newer system. And at that, you might have to jump over some hurdles to get by.

Do they have a "drug" problem? I would not even buy a truck with a ISX engine. Let alone try to retrofit one. But thats my opinion. The X-15 i think is better? But to go through all that nonsense. ??With all the decent used equipment? Just trade trucks.

So you have this job, enough had been said whether it’s the right decision or not. It’s not your truck and it’s not your money anymore... now it’s your headache!!!

I can’t help much with your old cat to Cummins conversion because I’m a Detroit guy. But what I can say is. There was a reason Freightliner quit making the FLD cab that had been their stronghold for 30+ years. With the 2007 EPA emission requirements they maxed out the wiring and technology that they could fit in the cab and dash. I’m not saying you can’t put the newer emissions in the old truck. I’m saying, one of your big challenges will be to get them to fit.

If this was a DD15 conversion I would say it’s pretty straight forward. Most frame harness’s are system based and don’t intertwine with everything outside the cab. The biggest issue is adapting the dash and switches to work with a big old CPC that receives and controls all driver inputs instead of the little bitty box that pulls coolant temp and RPM’s and gives accelerator pedal from/to the engine ECM.

Good luck with your endeavor... or head ache!!
