I got my first job offer today; Cypress Truck Lines. They're a regional flatbed company out of Jacksonville, FL. I haven't accepted because I need to do more research, then compare them with TMC. I don't think Cypress is one of those companies that has to recruit out of driving schools, but I could be wrong. I contacted them on my own.

There's not a lot of information out there on them. If anyone has any opinions of this company, chime in.

I think Cypress has their own school too, if it’s the one I’m thinking it is located in the south eastern states.

I would list a few things you are looking for out of a company evening be new to the trucking industry. It makes better to enjoy the environment you are working even when gaining experience. I when then apply to those companies that line up with what you are looking for. All the best to you in journey.

One source is to do a google search for “cypress truck lines employee reviews” check out the Indeed reviews that current and former employees have left. Indeed has pretty reliable reviews overall. It will be a mixed bag of reviews, but you can kind of get an idea which to give credence and which to ignore. Basically, it gives you an idea of potential issues if you repeatedly read different reviews stating the same or similar issues. Same goes for the positive aspects. I read a few reviews out of curiosity. This sounds like a typical training company and all that goes with a company of this type. Good luck to you.

I’ve been on indeed for reviews. Of course, contented people tend to be less likely to do a review than someone who is ticked off. Good advice, though. Thanks.

Edit: TMC has much better reviews than Cypress. TMC wants to see my last five years of Schedule C’s for self-employment and long form DOT physical before my application is complete. I’ll do that tomorrow.
