KC is icing over right now. They're saying that it'll be 3 pm before the temps get back above freezing. I came down I-35 rather than across I-70 because the forecast for Kingdom City and St. Louis was for possible heavy ice accumulation. I had clear roads until Kearny, then the precip hit and instantly froze to my windshield. All the way to 435 on the east side it was starting to ice and 435 all the way down to the I-70 ramps the road was starting to get greasy, but after that all the way down to Spring Hill, the roads were just wet. Our yard was a different story...the lot is gravel, but it's iced over to the point that it's the ice follies. The roads aren't too bad, but they're calling for a fair amount of precip before it changes to all rain. Then get into the mid 30's overnite, and then into the low/mid 20's by noon tomorrow...

This weather forecast brought to you by Pilot's coffee...the best coffee on the interstate

It's about 12 hours away from hitting us here in Long Island. Hopefully it makes a mess in Queens and Brooklyn, Cuse that means manhole fires and explosions from DSNY's generous use of salt. And all that madness means overtime.

Good for you not going into Canada anymore.

Driving out of NY today on 90 about 1 mile into Pennsylvania there were at least 8-12 trucks smashed up, jackknifed etc. all over the eastbound side going into NY.

The temp was about 28-30 and the road was slush/salted but pretty windy so I'm guessing that one truck decided to drive 30 well before getting to the toll booth and everybody else wanted to get around him.

I can't figure out why these states with the worst weather and highest tolls don't have the easypass lanes on the left side with 55mph signs so that people aren't encouraged to do dumb #### before getting to the lanes that randomly change day to day. There are like 6 lanes but you never know which one is the right one to be in until you are 1/5th a mile from the line.

I know that it's not that difficult to figure out.

Instead the state of Pennsylvania decides to ban trucks, RVs etc from the interstate today after the accident. Good thing they didn't actually enforce that and put 45 mph signs up for trucks but if you check their dot Twitter it says that trucks are banned from the road.

Thank you TJ...I've been saying that forever. Idk why there are still tollbooths up...everything in the burbs is all ezpass now, and you get billed in the mail. Did make it quite smoother to a degree.

Empty in Houston this afternoon (9:30 am appt, but was 2nd in line. Ended up being 12:30 before I was empty). Sent up to a new account Wylie has been awarded in Corsicana. Dispatch said live load, when I got here, it'll be a drop/hook preloaded, that wasn't preloaded yet. Just like everything else that Wylie is doing, they are still in the ' Chinese fire drill' stages of getting things rolling here. They brought in 1 loader from each of 3 plants to train a new loading crew (Church Hill, Spring Hill and Laurinburg), but they can't keep trainees. Once I am loaded, I will be going to Secaucus NJ. It'll be my 1st experience pulling a Wylie single drop (their conestogas open and latch way different than Moore's do) I waited for a while once they put my trailer in a door to see how to unlatch it, but I got tired of waiting and decided to just go take my break and figure it out for myself later.
