I worked at prime inc flatbed and became a trainer. Did that 1.5 years till may 2018 and then gas hauled tanker work till 04 2019. So over 2 years experience. My mom got stage 4 lung cancer so i took some time off to spend with her and family and help with dr appointments. Now that its been over 6 months prime wont take me back unless i go threw training again. 25000 miles with trainer. #### that. Will someone hire me? I wanted to go OTR and just put my head in work. Make money. Please if anyone knows any company that will give me a shot lmk. I have clean MVR and current medical card with hazmat and tanker. I also live in south but will work anywhere. And stay out for weeks at a time.
Can i get a job after 6+ months off

Might try Crete?

Tons of long haul companies will hire you. You might have to complete a bit of training. 25k miles is 5 weeks or less, but I am sure some company will hire you without training. I would go for the best company you can find, usually that means to me the one that pays the most. Crete/Shaffer might hire you but you would have to go with a trainer. The trainee pay is $800/week, then the real money starts pouring in when you go solo. I work for Crete and have a fat wallet.
Chinatown seems to be our resident expert on companies. Maybe he will have some good info for you.
Edit: oops, you have over a year experience. You wouldn't have to go with a trainer at Crete or at very many places anywhere. You are very hirable. Stop worrying and put in the applications. -
You have over two years experience. With a clean record you should be able to get hired just about anywhere. Do some research on companies you would like to work for, their web sites usually tell what they’re looking for in terms of experience. Sell your strong points.
I just landed a good job after being off the road 18 months. I have a clean record and just over a million miles. (Still a rookie)RoadRooster Thanks this. -
Really? So prime must just be picky?
