I've wound up here on numerous occasions thanks to internet searches, decided to finally join. I tend to lurk more than post in my older foruming age for a variety of reasons (no need to repeat, smarter people making better points, etc.), though my searching means I have plenty of questions I may ask if I'm feeling brave.

Was a local delivery driver for a few beverage distributors in the Portland/Salem metro area since 2006 (acquired class A working for a large red soft drink company based out of Atlanta).
Currently working for a wine distributor running night transport to downstate Oregon, in addition to a Saturday job driving a box truck to Bend for a bed and furniture retailer.

By Sunday, I'm ready to never go outside again.

    Hello, fellow Oregonian.

After reading your post, I've got visions of polar bears dancing in my head.

I have, just out of curiosity, and seeing the rest of North America has a certain appeal.

Then, the pessimist in me splashes some cold water on that with traffic, getting lost, nonsense I see with third party driver's delivering to our warehouse from suppliers (beverage makers), full rest/truck stops, etc. Also, the girlfriend wouldn't go for it (she tolerates nights, but under protest).
2019 was the first full year of running nights, working approximately 45 hours/4 nights a week (Monday to Thursday). Was pretty close to clearing $70k from that. Saturday job is good for 10 to 12 hours (snow and chains) and added another $10k for the year. Throw in employee pricing for booze and beds (and bed accessories) I'm fine with what I'm doing for now.

    D.Tibbitt and dwells40 Thank this.
