Thinking About Getting My CDL At NETTTS In North Andover, MA. Questions..

Andover nettts The class room is a joke not like real school you can show up late the teacher makes inappropriate jokes. You do learn some stuff about laws and stuff 540 once you get to the yard the most of teachers don't give a #### they sit in there car and expect you learn on your own after showing you once real quick they also ##### and moan about there pay and management and want to get laid off. I wish I went 160 instead of 540 so I could be working already .Also I had no idea there was a 160 course until I got to the yard they keep it a secret and get you to sign up for the 540 to get more money . NETTTS ANDOVER HAS ABOUT 2 GOOD TEACHERS THE REST I'VE MET ARE #### DON'T CARE IF YOU PASS OR FAIL

 

Nettts Andover is a joke about 2 good teachers the rest are all crap don't care if you pass or fail they sit there car and expect you to learn on your own after showing you once real quick. The teachers in the yard also ##### about management and wanting to be laid off to the students. The trucks are #### that you practice with.im a 540 never knew there was a 160 course until I was half way through 540 class they keep it a secret to get you to sign up for 540 and make more money. The class room first two weeks you get your permit with a 1 of the good teachers like I said there are about 2 good teachers in the school only she is one of them.after the two weeks you go to a different class where you can show up late and the teacher makes inappropriate jokes daily not like real school at all, also alot of sitting around in class not really doing much besides watching videos, building is run down half of the class is dirtbags ex cons who get to go for free the state pays it the other half is good guys paying out of pocket

 

6 grand for the short course, seems excessive to say the least, and a 540 coarse sounds plum nuts, it isn't like a guy is trying to get a college education out of it. We still do it the old school way, the kid that helps me, took the tests and got his permit, and will use my truck and just has to pay for the license. he legalities are not that big of a deal and change every few years anyway.
He checked into the school the teamsters union has here, and it was only 2800 bucks.

 

I did the 160 course at nettts n. Andover. I already had my permit. No class time straight into the yard

training is a joke, only 2-3 instructors gave a ####. This was almost 4 years ago now. Passed the exam first shot. Got a job with Schneider not even a week after passing.

540 class is an even bigger joke. It's full of people taking advantage of unemployment and sadly also full of veterans taking advantage of thier g-bill for an easy paycheck.

160 class only has people in it who actually want to be there since you have to work over the green yourself .

I currently attend NETTTS in Somers, I’m doing the 160 course and test next Saturday 1-25-20 (1 and done) I’m not going to bash the school because for the most part, you get to use a truck any time you want from 6:45 am - 10 pm. Practice, practice and keep practicing backing up, off sets, alley dock, parallel parking. I’m a quick learner, I only need to be shown how to do things once and I make it my business to learn. With that said, yes there are some instructors that don’t give a rat’s xxx about rookies and sit in their cars, or disappear, you ask them for help and they tell you they coming but disappear. I won’t let a selfish person, that took the job to teach and is just milking the cow to Stop me from accomplishing my goals. No matter how boring it may get just keep practicing and each day you leave, make sure you learned something..

 

How far into the schooling do they drug test? I stopped smoking as soon as I signed up ( 3 weeks ago) but am due to start this Monday, and I’m still pissing positive on a home test I’ve taken. I have no problem quitting marijuana, I’m just worried about not passing the drug test once I’ve paid for and start attending the school. If they don’t test right away, I think I’ll be fine. Any advice is much appreciated.

 

Not sure that particular private school drug tests, but the trucking company you hire on with will. Many are doing hair follicle test now. There a few that only do urine. I think Stevens Transport still does urine.
