they use about 120hp tractors for mowing, they can carry 2 crane mowers. unimog can carry 3.







only thing unimog is not good is that largest mower possible is 30ft long while tractors can be even 40ft (for canals)

lawn mowing roadside is serious business in europe, also unimogs are used to cut tree branches roadside, washing signs and fences (like one on second photo with unimog towing trailer) when you have 3 cranes you need another operator, in this case seat is rotated to right, there is a special door to create some extra space for operator.
why 3 mowers instead of one big is because 3 can go in more difficult spaces, like under fences, can move when get to obstacle

 

See a slow , very expensive way to mow right of ways .

 

There are no alternative to this on roadside especially with fence.
On open spaces there are machines for thst (google for aebi)

 

I used to own a bushoging business. Video you posted one of my machines would cover 6 to 7 times the ground . And take out 6 inch trees at the same time . Not sure why designers would not allow access points ? Thought it would never need repairs or service ?
