I met a guy once. One of his drivers was trying to get over rail tracks and realized he was going to get stuck (he was driving a low car hauler and the tracks were raised). So the guy speeds up and manages to lay his truck/trailer (with brand new Mercedeses totaled) on its side. Driver didn’t go to jail. When I was talking to the owner he was trying to sell his last truck and trailer since he knew he wouldn’t get a renewal.Bud A., Upinsmoke, Badmon and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes call that number immediately if the crossing is blocked and the dispatcher at that number can stop any train heading to the crossing.Upinsmoke, Doealex and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
A friend of mine retired from the FRA(Federal Railroad Administration.) He was fundamental in getting the requirement in place that trains must sound horns at RR crossings with rare exceptions. This was in 1991.
Statistics provided by the FRA since then have proven that fatalities are not affected, the numbers are about the same before and after the regulation went into effect.
In other words, you cannot fix stupid. -
Guys come on you don't hang around railroad tracks at any capacity when a train is approaching. That's about as bad as taking shelter in tree house when the tornado sirens go off .

This one is somewhat upsetting.
You don't see it early on with big zoom and far distance, but this engine is all out racing for upgrade at least 60 You can hear the turbos quite some distance before it becomes apparent just how maxed out the prime mover really was.
