I just have some 4” round lights up under the truck and a few rock lights off a Jeep on mine, still get the amber glow but I can do it in 6-8 lights instead of 30

If you are a "buy the cheapest, do zero maintenance, run it til it
quits, than buy another one" operator than lights are a waste.

If you are a buy the "best, keep up the maintenance, run the truck for years"
operator than I think some tastefully installed lights can look good.

For me personally I like seeing clean O/O trucks with lights, etc. In today's
world of mega carrier/junk trucks that NOBODY feels good about it is refreshing
to see a truck that the owner/driver obviously feels good about. I do also agree that
if the lights aren't done right than leave them off.

Yep! I use uninsulated butt connectors and glue lined heat shrink. It’s even better then the expensive all in one connectors because you can get a better crimp and not worry about piercing the heatshrink, defeating the whole purpose.
