I understand that in Europe this engine meets or exceeds Euro Stage V, which is suppose to be equivalent to our upcoming 2021 Final Tier Emissions, and I understand this engine does it WITHOUT an EGR Valve and all of it's associated BS, anybody know if the X12 sold here is without EGR??? I DO understand that means it's probably close to an 8% DEF ratio,,,,,
    Thx

Pulled up the 2 variants of the X12.
    X12 CM2670 X121B no egr
    X12 CM2350 X119B egr

X119B is released to meet emission regulations in US and Canada EPA and ARB

X121B is released to meet emissions Euro VI and China VI

Gonna say no can do to the X12 in north america with no egr.

Well we can't just get rid of EGR. How else are you going to carbon pack your piston rings so you get to buy an early rebuild?

Your versión of the engine has EGR only because you have much more stringent emissions laws than any other part of the world. While this engine and the X15 only require fixed geometry turbo, DPF and SCR to comply with Euro VI (EPA 2013), you are now required to comply with EPA 2017 and 2021 regulations that require lower emission and the need to use VGT's and EGR in complement to the other systems to achive the regulatory limits.

    KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this.

I will point out they only use a fraction of the egr they used to use. The nox reduction is mostly left to the scr rather then egr.

Cat has started removing NRS from some of their engines for the reason you just stated.
