Got a sincere question. Been driving for 12 years now. I had a terrible couple of months and got 2 tickets, speeding. I need to get back on the road. Am I going to get passed over by the good companies? Is there anything I could do ahead of time to help my situation. My record was clean before the two tickets. Any advice would be appreciated.

You did not state how bad the tickets were.

If you got one at 15 and over it's really bad. You are not going to be hireable for about 3 years by the "Good companies" Now you have two? forget it.

As bad as 15 and over is (Its really bad) you do not want 25 and over. Or anything that generates racing tickets, aggressive or otherwise reckless or even arrest-able tickets. You pretty much will not have a trucking job for a while. Unless you joined the Russian Mafia in Chicago and rolled outlaw for a while. Which is something you do not want to do. That CDL is worth something after all your blood, money, sweat and tears.

In my day I had enough tickets for speeding as to constantly carry 7 points for a couple of years. Took 3 to kill those points to zero. Trucking in those days were not too bad, but it was clear that in my later years you cannot risk speeding tickets. There is a whole percentage of truckers who hold valid CDL and have experience and so on around the USA but they are excluded from the trucking industry all together because of a single bad ticket.

I had joined a tiny dump truck outfit we were two trucks and three people at times. The owner could not be bothered to give a *&^% what my record was in trucking. He needs someone there at sunrise fueling and making ready to work hard all the day until it's not possible to see after sunset (thats your quitting time) Piss on the bad records.

Is that illegal? I don't know but it should be considered that the trucking companies are being told by a third party (Insurance) not to hire you. Who or what gives them the right?

I had a citation for following too close. No ticket. That was the only thing on my MVR and it kept me from my dream job. The best companies can afford to be picky.

Here is your solution friend. They will usually even pay to defend tickets after the fact, if you sign up. I think it is around $35 a month, no deductibles. Swift/Knight uses them, but anybody can. The fee pays for in your own vehicle too, and a spouse I think. They saved my career.
