Sounds like he felt he should have been exempt from the chain laws.EXEMPT should be completely erased no matter what you do and who you are.

Not a fact though, just an assumption on my part.

Splitting hairs, but for most 5 axle trucks you are only required to carry 7 chains. Outers on each drive axle, 1 drag on the trailer, and 2 spares:

With tag-axle & super singles, I only need to carry 5 (1 for each drive tire, 1 for the trailer, and 2 spares)

How many points went on your csa record for this tire chain citation?

This happened a couple of years ago, and honestly I never thought to look.

Did you get an inspection? If so what statute did they cite?

I got no inspection. There were pulling all trucks into the scales on Oregon I-84 and asked them if they had chains, how many sets they were carrying. If I had given them the right answer, I would have been sent on my way. But I am not what you'd call a knowledgeable trucker. I knew I had bags of chains in the storage bin, but I didn't know how many. So She made me pull off to side, and count them. Even still, had I known what the required amount of chains (which happened to be six), I would have lied and reported to her that i had 6 (since it seemed to be on the honor system). But I only counted 4 bags, and that's what I reported to her. So she sent me inside the scale station where another guy wrote me a citation. What statute? No idea.

No cvsa inspection means no csa points.
Might get points on your license depending on state, but as it's not a moving violation I would be very surprised if that's the case.
